10 Easy ways to reduce snoring problem.

Snoring is a loud and unpleasant sound which occurs mostly through nasal and oral areas while sleeping. It is the most common problem seen in most of the people. Snoring is not a disease. Snoring occurs in some people daily and in some people it occurs rarely. Sometimes snoring occurs when a person is excessively exhausted. In some people, it occurs daily even if he's not done any work throughout the day. Snoring should be considered as first alarm for obstructive sleep apnea and in some cases it may also lead to heart related problems. Snoring should not be neglected. A few necessary tips which are given below should be followed to reduce snoring, as it may be helpful to you as well as to the people sleeping around you.



1. Sleeping position adjustment: Sleeping on left or right side may help to reduce snoring problems. If sleeping problem still persists even after changing the position then it may be because of obstructive sleep apnea.

2. Decrease the bedroom allergens: Sometimes the dust particles and few allergens may also help in snoring, to avoid this the bed sheets and pillow covers should be changed very often.

3. Reduce Body Weight: Weight loss in some people, not in everyone, helps to reduce snoring. Even thin and lean people may snore, but mostly weight loss will reduce snoring. When weight is gained around the neck, it will squeeze the internal organs of the throat and helps to trigger snoring.

4. Quit smoking cigarettes: Smoking helps in swelling of throat which in turn narrows the airway passing leading to snoring. So, one should quit smoking to reduce snoring.

5. Staying hydrated: If the nasal and oral areas are dry then there are more chances of snoring. So, stay well hydrated to avoid snoring.

6. Bed elevation: Elevating the head of the bed may also reduce snoring, but in some cases it may lead to neck pain.

7. Intake of few things: Consuming few things like fenugreek, eucalyptus oil, spearmint, and peppermint also will help to reduce snoring.

8. Shun Alcohol: In most of the people after consuming excessive alcohol, snoring occurs even if they are not daily snorers. Alcohol alters the resting capacity of the throat muscles and help in heavy snoring.

9. Good sleeping habits: Working for long hours and not getting enough sleep that a body requires will lead to snoring. Poor sleeping habits should be avoided and good sleeping habits should be maintained to get snore less sleep.

10.  Inhale steam: Nasal congestion may lead to snoring. Steam inhalation with eucalyptus essential oils will clear the Nasal congestion and in turn it will reduce snoring.

By following the above tips and remedies you and your partner may have a sound sleep, as these tips and remedies are far better than undergoing some painful operations and surgeries.
